Salt Water Aquarium

WOW a 60 000 litre salt water Aquarium in the middle of a Restaurant.

The Aquarium is home to plenty of Bay Of Islands local fish species. We are thankful to local fishermen and Divers who constantly bring us new Aquarium life.

Just to mention a few, snapper, blue mau mau, trevally, kawhai, granddaddy hapuka and leatherjackets.

We have two Kingfish who appear to rule the tank and one of the carpet sharks has produced two eggs. Karl from Whangarei kindly donated a 5.1kg packhorse crayfish.

The tank is replenished daily with fresh salt water from beneath the building

Monitoring and feeding the fish is undertaken on a daily basis, while the interior of the tank is cleaned by a diver, a highlight for children and parents.

A major upgrade with new rock faces & swim throughs were specially designed to enhance your viewing experience.
